We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from skilled, safety-focused, and motivated Leading Hand Boilermakers for upcoming shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance projects across mining, mineral processing, ports, and heavy industrial operations in Gladstone, Queensland . These opportunities will suit experienced trade leaders who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about delivering quality outcomes while leading high-performing teams. About the Role As a Leading Hand Boilermaker, you will provide frontline supervision and technical guidance to boilermaker and maintenance crews, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Key responsibilities may include: Leading and coordinating boilermaker and maintenance teams during shutdown and maintenance activities Supervising structural, piping, fabrication, repair, and fixed plant maintenance works Ensuring work is completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and quality requirements Promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture on site Conducting pre-starts, toolbox talks, and daily work planning activities Monitoring productivity, work progress, and workforce performance Assisting with resource allocation, job sequencing, and work prioritisation Liaising with supervisors, planners, QA/QC personnel, and client representatives Providing mentoring and support to tradespeople and apprentices Requirements About You To be successful in these opportunities, you will ideally possess: Extensive experience as a Boilermaker within mining, maintenance, shutdown, construction, or heavy industrial environments Previous experience in a Leading Hand or Supervisory capacity Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills Proven commitment to safety and operational excellence Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Essential Requirements Trade Qualification – Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator Current Driver's Licence Construction White Card Proven shutdown and maintenance experience Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening Full Australian working rights Highly Desirable Experience leading crews on major shutdowns and maintenance projects Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry certifications High Risk Work Licences (Rigging, EWP, Forklift, Dogging, etc.) Experience in mining, ports, power generation, LNG, or heavy industrial operations Knowledge of safety management systems and permit-to-work processes Local Gladstone or Central Queensland experience Benefits a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } What's on Offer Competitive hourly rates and project allowances Opportunities across major shutdown and maintenance campaigns Work with leading mining and industrial clients Strong safety culture and supportive site teams Potential for ongoing project work and repeat shutdown opportunities Career growth opportunities within future maintenance programs Register Your Interest If you're a respected trade leader looking to take the next step in your shutdown and maintenance career, we'd like to hear from you.
